Spurlock did not interview Osama Bin Laden in his new film. He did learn many things that will shock the public, however - I am not privy to such accounts. Regardless, the film will generate a ton of buzz this soon and upcoming year, similar to what Sicko did in ‘07. I can’t reveal my source. Man, Oregon Public Broadcasting shows so many New Age self-help lectures. Weird. There are quite a few good programs on PBS these days, like Globe Trekker, Wired Science, Independent Lens, etc. I think I might have to give them some money during the next fund raiser.

anja says that this is the best observation of relationships she has seen me make and she told me to post it on Tumblr. Originally, I posted it on a girl’s livejournal because she said she only dates assholes: “Maybe because if you’re dating an asshole, and you fuck something up, you can just be like “Well you’re an asshole!,” but if you’re dating a nice...

Catch That Beat on Vimeo (via Vimeo) This video is so strange for me. I missed this fest because I had to go to a wedding in Vancouver, but a lot of the people in this video are my friends. So it’s like this weird, well-edited, sort of detached documentary about people that I see a lot in my life. Pretty interesting and totally makes me glad to live here. “Fame isn’t the goal of...

The new Chipmunks movie was written by Simpsons writer Jon Vitti? I got free tickets to watch it, so I did. It was totally horrible. * (of 5) is a generous rating for this movie. David Cross has a suprisingly large role in this movie and pretty much has the only funny (to adults) moments, although his performance as a whole doesn’t really work. Maybe that’s the movie’s fault and...

The Westboro Baptist Church (that “God Hates Fags” crew from the heart of Jesusland USA) presents their cover “We Are the World,” rewritten and retitled as “God Hates the World.” The following spectacle managed to be both surreal and fleshcrawlingly creepy at the same time. If you can stomach it, the last twenty seconds are as close to pure evil as I’ve seen in a long time. I feel sick. —...

Christmas is a secular holiday
I’m sick of religious media commentators being up in arms about the perceived secularization of Christmas. I agree that materialism is out of control in our culture, but humans all over the world have been celebrating the winter solstice time since long before Jesus. Roland Martin recently said, “we should continue to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.” Well,...
